The average UK family wastes £800 a year by throwing away edible food and drink.

At the same time, according to The Food Foundation, more than 13 million people in the UK are struggling to get enough to eat.

With this in mind, Sustainable Merton, has launched a new satellite community fridge in Rutlish Road in Wimbledon.

It will distribute fresh surplus food donated by supermarkets and businesses to the community via volunteers.
