Surrey’s 11 district and borough councils will no longer exist if devolution plans for the county are agreed.

All borough councils as well as Surrey County Council will be replaced by one unitary council.

Deputy Prime Minister, Angela Rayner, has specifically identified Surrey as having an urgent need to re-organise.

Any change is unlikely to happen before April 2027 and will be subject to Government approval.
