It responded “by urgently sourcing 16 temporary accommodation properties” and bidding for Local Authority Housing Funding.
The Council says it was granted 40% of total capital costs to purchase 81 properties.
They are made up of 18 resettlement homes for refugees and a further 63 properties for use as general temporary accommodation.
