Sir Keir Starmer is expected to promise a named contactable police officer for every neighbourhood in England and Wales, when he lays out his “plan for change” later.

The PM will set out how the government will achieve its five key pledges from Labour’s manifesto, including around migration, and the NHS.

He’ll again promise 13,000 additional police officers, before the next election.

Shadow Home Secretary and Conservative MP for Croydon South, Chris Philp, doubts that figure.
