London Fire Brigade says crews tackled the fire, that destroyed around one hectare of land, with help from the airport’s fire service.
Firefighters were called just before 5:40pm yesterday and had the blaze under control within 30 minutes.
People are being urged to take care in hot, dry conditions and avoid anything that could spark fires.
