Richmond Council is reviewing its social housing priority rules to help cut reliance on temporary accommodation.

Under the proposed changes, homeless residents who move into privately rented homes will no longer lose their place on the council’s Housing Register.

Officials say the shift aims to give families more stability while they wait for long-term social housing.
