Statement in full from the Princess Alice.

“Sadly for the first time ever we have had to cancel our Bushy Park Santa Fun Run this Sunday.

This has been a tough decision made due to the extreme weather warnings this weekend and health and safety concerns as a result. Furthermore, Bushy Park will be closed tomorrow and the park’s risk assessment to re-open the venue will not be completed in time for our run. Unfortunately, we are not the only Hospice that has had to make this tough decision this weekend.

The safety of our supporters, volunteers and staff is paramount and ultimately has to come first.

The good news is that we have a few options for you.

If you would still like to complete your run in your own time at a venue of your choice you can collect your own Santa suit from the Hospice reception between 9 am and 10 am on Sunday.

You can also transfer your place to next Sunday, the 15th of December at our Sandown Park Santa Fun Run which will be followed by our Christmas Market and Santa’s Grotto.

Alternatively, you can wait to hear more from us next week with more options.

Please do inform your team mates and let us know what you would like to do by filling out this simple form: https://form.jotform.com/243403563265050

Thank you for your understanding and your support. Santa Fun Run is a huge fundraising event for us each year and helps us generate thousands. 80% of the £11.5 million we need to provide our services each year is due to events like these and other fundraising activities. https://form.jotform.com/243403563265050
