The incident took place at around 1.30pm on the M25 at the M3 junction where a silver Audi followed a black vehicle.
Cans were being thrown from the silver car whilst shouting threats at the driver and passenger of the other vehicle.
The Audi then hit the other car, causing them to spin and collide with the carriageway barrier; there are no reports of any injuries.
Anyone with dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
