Police are maintaining an increased presence in Epsom after last night’s protest escalated into disorder.

Four people have been arrested for offences including criminal damage and assaulting an emergency worker.

The protest began at 5pm outside the train station, with some targeting hotels and homes over false asylum claims.

The demonstrations are in response to Surrey Police’s investigation into the reported rape of a woman outside The Methodist Church.
