People living in a road in Mitcham are asking Merton Council to close it to traffic.

Residents in King George VI Avenue say the arrival of travellers last November is the latest in a long line of reasons why they want it shut.

They say constant littering and anti-social behaviour around what is a conservation area, are two other factors.

Residents are proposing renaming the route as King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II Avenue.
