The fire at a recycling plant which started on Saturday in Weir Road has now been fully extinguished by the London Fire Brigade.
Statement from Wandsworth Council:
We know the fire and smoke has had a significant impact on residents and we thank you for your patience. The incident has now been closed and the fire brigade no longer need to manage the site.
Local residents are advised to open their windows and doors if needed for ventilation, to clear out any remaining smells or particles as the smoke has now subsided.
The latest air quality testing reflects an improvement in the area with air quality returning to acceptable levels.
In consideration of this, the advice was that all children were able to return to school today. Schools should also ventilate rooms and keep windows open.
