Passengers flying into Heathrow are getting a unique view, with a giant poem etched into a field to mark the airport’s 80th birthday.

Written by Heathrow’s poet-in-residence David Larbi, the artwork can only be seen from the air near the west London airport.

The poem celebrates Heathrow as the UK’s “gateway to the world” and reflects on the excitement of travel.

The airport, which opened in 1946, now welcomes more than 84 million passengers a year.
