Thames Water will close a small section of North End Road between Sedlescombe Road and Lillie Road from Friday.
The work will take around a month with engineers saying they’ll be working seven days a week.
The company says it is working to find those that have caused this disruption to residents and businesses.
The North End Road’s market will be open for business as usual during the repairs.
The market runs six days a week, Monday to Saturday, from 8am to 6pm.

The source of the illegally dumped concrete and the full extent of the blockage is currently being investigated by Thames Water.
Once the developer is identified, they will be pursued to reclaim all costs for mitigation and repair of the sewer pipes.
