Over 1.6 million pounds has been spent on ‘nightly accommodation’ by Epsom and Ewell Borough Council last year.

It comes as people in need of urgent housing are placed outside of the borough on a night-to night basis.

The council says it’s due to a waiting list of more than 3 years for temporary accommodation in Epsom and Ewell.

There’s currently homeless in temporary housing inside the borough and some in nightly accommodation outside the borough.
