On three consecutive days in winter 2003, security staff were called to close one particular fire door near the Palace’s Clock Court.
CCTV footage showed the doors flying wide open and on the second day, a ghostly figure in period dress can clearly be seen.
The figure caught the attention of the world’s media, but Palace bosses says they are still none the wiser.
