Nature-based solutions can help tackle climate change and food security, but communities outside Europe are missing out.

That’s according to new research by the University of Surrey who found that 60% NBS are based in Europe.

NBS’s include expanding urban green spaces, green roofs and walls providing cooling and shade, absorb rainfall and improve air quality.

Regions outside of Europe were found to be missing out because of poor use of available technologies.
