MPs are warning water, energy and broadband watchdogs are failing to ensure vulnerable customers get critical support.

Richmond Park MP Sarah Olney is on the Public Accounts Committee, which found they don’t have a ‘comprehensive view’ of how much customers owe.

That’s despite early intervention being key to limiting the impact of arrears.

Ofwat and Ofcom say they’ve asked companies to point people to help like social tariffs, while Ofgem says ‘protecting consumers’ remains a priority.
