More than 4,000 have been helped via Citizens Advice Epsom and Ewell over the last year.

The charity’s latest annual report shows staff and volunteers dealt with more than 11,000 issues, including debt and domestic abuse.

They also supported one man who saw more than £40,000 of debt largely written off.

Citizens Advice says its aim is to give people the knowledge and confidence to become financially independent.
