More than 20 homeless people have been helped into permanent accommodation following the launch of a new service in Ashford.

The White House opened in October and provides accommodation for single homeless people with links to Spelthorne.

Social housing provider Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing manages the facility on behalf of the Council.

Prior to its opening, single homeless residents would have been placed in ‘bed and breakfast’ accommodation.

The facility contains 27 en-suite rooms with shared kitchens and four self-contained studio flats.

It also benefits from a learning suite which is used to hold training programmes, advice sessions and other activities.
