The aim of the annual event is for participants to read up to six traditional or e-books chosen from the county’s 52 sites.
More than 31,000 visits were also made over the summer to library events including storytelling and music workshops.
This year’s challenge, called Read to the Beat, combined books, music and creativity to encourage children to enjoy reading.
