More street patrols are to be carried out across Thornton Heath to address residents’ safety concerns.

Croydon Council is also looking to extend an order which gives police additional powers to tackle persistent problems.

The PSPO, which was introduced in 2024, aims to tackle anti-social behaviour like street drinking but is due to expire in February.

Since its introduction, the PSPO coverage area has seen a 3.4% reduction in reports of antisocial behaviour according to the authority.
