London’s councils are running out of burial space and we’re being asked to make our final wishes known.

The concerning news has been revealed in an audit by City Hall which predicts that 17 authorities will no longer have room by 2040.

Lib Dem London Assembly member and Merton councillor Hina Bokhari wants urgent action taken to address the situation.

London’s population is ageing, with ONS data predicting the proportion of those 65 and over will be just over 40% by 2040.

Hina says people have to make sure they know what their loved ones want when their time comes to make planning easier.
