Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters attended a house fire on Glenister Park Road on Sunday evening.
The ground and first floors of a mid-terrace house were partly damaged by the fire.
A was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Brigade took the first call reporting the fire at 6.50pm, and the incident was under control by 9.32pm
Crews from Norbury, Tooting and West Norwood Fire Station attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Metropolitan Police Service and the Brigade.
Detectives investigating the death have made two arrests and the man and woman remain in custody.
