Lexi Potter has become the first 17-year-old female player to sign a professional contract after joining Women’s Super League champions Chelsea.

The midfielder captained England to the semi-finals of the Under-17s European Championship in Estonia earlier this summer.

Potter will be loaned out to Championship side Crystal Palace for the upcoming season.
