Let’s get the third runway at Heathrow built – that’s the sentiment of Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch.

She’s addressed the final day of her party’s conference in Birmingham.

Ms Badenoch told delegates that in order to grow UK business, the airport needs its third runway.

Meanwhile, the Shadow Home Secretary has taken to the stage at the Tory party conference to tell members that “crime will have consequences.”

Croydon South MP Chris Philp says the fatal stabbing of schoolgirl Elianne Andam on a bus in 2023 was “unthinkable.”

Hassan Sentamu was jailed for life for Elianne’s murder last year.

Mr Philp’s told party members he wants his children to grow up feeling safe and secure.

He’s vowed that crime reports will be followed up and perpetrators put in prison if the Tories win the next general election.
