The project was a partnership between Network Rail and the Department for Transport’s ‘Access for All’ initiative.
It’s hoped the improvements will help passengers with limited mobility or those with heavy luggage, bicycles and pushchairs.
Leatherhead had been considered step-free, but passengers reported it was difficult to switch platforms if you weren’t using the stairs.
