League Managers Association chairman Howard Wilkinson says they’re deeply saddened by the death of Joe Kinnear, calling him a “gifted leader”.

It was confirmed yesterday the former Newcastle and Wimbledon boss has died aged 77.

He was diagnosed with dementia in 2015.

Kinnear was named LMA manager of the year in 1994 after guiding Wimbledon to 6th in the Premier League.
