Lambeth Council is accelerating its programme of roadworks.
The resurfacing of a number of routes and pavements will now take place between now and spring.
Other works include repairing drains, repainting road markings and upgrades to street lighting where necessary.
The highway network in Lambeth accounts for around 315 linear kilometres of road which is around 195 miles in total.
