It’s been revealed Sir Tony Blair was urged to pay back thousands of pounds worth of discounts he received on designer clothes.
Documents handed over to the National Archives in Kew show the former Prime Minister was advised to pay more than £7,600 back.
The archived files also reveal Britain’s ambassador warned George W Bush was determined to overthrow Saddam Hussein as part of a “mission” to rid the world of “evil-doers”.
Sir Christopher Meyer said it had become “politically impossible” to draw back from war unless the Iraqi dictator surrendered.
In January 2003, Tony Blair flew to Camp David to urge the president to allow more time for for diplomacy to work.
