Investigations into the unexpected draining of Carshalton Ponds will continue next week.

Sutton Council says initial investigations suggest that one of the underground plugs where the water flows is damaged.

The authority says it’s working with animal welfare organisations to lessen the impact on wildlife.

Sutton Council emptied the upper pond in July to repair a leak before it inexplicably emptied for a second time last weekend.
