Hounslow Council has confirmed that squatters have taken over the fire-damaged Waterman’s arts centre in Brentford.

The Council says officials and staff have been prevented by the squatters from going in to assess the damage.

The blaze, which broke out on June 5^th is thought to have been accidental. It affected the roof and a smal;l studio.

The council says it’ll work to evict the squatters from the building, which closed in April due to financial pressures from covid and the cost of living crisis.
