Heathrow Airport says September passenger numbers were at its highest monthly level since before the Covid pandemic.

Seven million passed through – a figure last exceeded in February 2020, just before lockdowns started around the world.

Heathrow boss John Holland-Kaye – who oversaw the business through Covid – will handover to his successor next week.
