A two-way central lane has been created across the bridge, which has been closed to all traffic since 2020 due to safety concerns.
Spanning three metres wide, the cycle lane will be in place for 10 weeks.
Motorbikes and mopeds are still not allowed to use the bridge and marshals will be on duty 24/7 to handle traffic management.
