Hammersmith and Fulham Council says it’s going to reduce its energy bills by a massive £540,000 every year.

The authority says it’s able to make the saving because it is switching its buildings over to more energy efficient LED lights.

More than 23,000 light fittings and 11,000 emergency lights have so far been upgraded in communal areas and hallways on estates.
