The bridge’s refreshed look was picked with the help of residents who chose new colours, white, grey and teal, to “complement” the entrance gate to Shepherds Bush Market.
The restoration of the bridge is part of work to improve Uxbridge Road.
Cllr Zarar Qayyum, H&F Cabinet Member for Enterprise and Skills, said:
Shepherds Bush Market tube station serves as a gateway to Uxbridge Road which is home to the historic Shepherds Bush Market and cultural venues including Bush Hall and Bush Theatre – to name a few.
“We want it to be a pleasant place for residents and visitors. That’s why we’ve been working with residents to get the bridge repainted. We hope that TfL will now make urgent improvements to the station, which is very run-down.
“This is all part of our work to make H&F the best place to live, work and socialise.”
The re-painting works will take place 6am to 7pm, from Monday to Friday next week.
Uxbridge Road will remain open for pedestrians, cyclists, motorists and buses throughout the repair work.
Pedestrian access to Shepherds Bush Market Station and nearby businesses will also be unchanged.
During the works, one lane of traffic between Frithville Gardens and Pennard Road will be closed. Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place to keep vehicles moving.
