Fulham’s Pearly Queen and her family have been praised for raising money for smaller charities in the area.

Gemma Blackie says they raised around £40,000 last year through appearances at events, festivals and community gatherings.

Gemma’s children also take part, helping to keep a tradition that dates back to the 1800 going.

The Pearly Kings and Queens Society is one of four charities being supported by Hammersmith and Fulham Mayor Sharon Holder this year.
