A man allegedly entered the post office on Brabazon Road and threatened the shopkeeper with a firearm while demanding cash.
He is believed to have forced one of the staff members to access the safe room where he is suspected of stealing nearly £137,000.
Two men aged 38 and 65 and two women aged 39 and 44 were arrested for conspiracy to steal, to possess criminal property and to pervert the course of justice.
