Footage of people hanging from level crossing barriers in Chertsey and Hounslow have been released to remind people to stay safe.

It’s part of Network Rail’s summer safety campaign, as incidents of level crossing misuse rise during the summer break

There have been 258 incidents of misuse and 33 near misses at level crossings across Network Rail’s Kent route over the last year.

Manager, Sam Pead says, “It’s frustrating we continue to see people recklessly risking their lives when crossing the railway.”
