Firefighters say a blaze in Battersea yesterday is believed to have been caused by unattended cooking.

Half of the second floor and part of the third floor of an end-of terraced house converted into flats in St John’s Hill caught light.

There were no reports of any injuries.

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “cooking should never be left unattended on the hob or grill.”
