Everton manager Sean Dyche says he contacted Roy Hodgson’s assistant to send his best wishes to his Crystal Palace counterpart.

On the same day reports emerged he would be sacked, the former England boss was taken to hospital on Thursday.

His condition was described as “stable” in the latest update from his club.

Dyche has checked in about Hodgson’s condition.

Everton face Palace in the Premier League on Monday night.
