England women defender Niamh Charles says Lauren James is still in “high spirits” and said she would learn from the experience.

The Chelsea forward still has a potential World Cup-ending ban looming over her after receiving a red card.

She was sent off for violent conduct after stamping on a Nigeria player during the Lionesses shootout victory in the last-16.

Charles says James is full of remorse.
