Electric cargo bikes can now be spotted on the streets of Hammersmith and Fulham.

They are being used by the council’s recycling teams to empty dog waste bins and tackle emergency rubbish collections.

The authority says these vehicles are more practical as they can fit along smaller riverside routes.

The electrically assisted pedal cycles cannot go faster than 25mph and are quieter than traditional rubbish trucks.
