The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Kuldev Sehra, has attended an event hosted by the Richmond in Europe Association and unveiled paintings by students celebrating Richmond’s twinning partnership with France and Germany.
The unveiled artworks have been painted on the walls of Whitton underpass by art students from Richmond College, to mark the reaffirmation of Richmond’s twinning agreement with Konstanz, Germany and Fontainebleau, France.
Used by thousands of pedestrians and cyclists every day, the underpass is an important connection between the communities of Whitton and West Twickenham.
In addition to celebrating the international partnerships and the reaffirmation in 2025, the artworks also symbolise Richmond in Europe Association’s aim to bring people together.
The Richmond in Europe Association promotes connections with our European neighbours and commissioned the murals to commemorate the reaffirmation of Richmond’s international partnerships, which will take place in Richmond from the 6th to the 8th of June next year.
