The teledermatology service launched in 2022 as a pilot and has assessed over 10,000 patients since then.

It is now being rolled out at West Middlesex University Hospital in Isleworth.

Teledermatology involves taking high quality images of moles and lesions using a smartphone with a dermatoscope attached.

AI is then used to assess the images and is trained to classify the most common cancerous, pre-cancerous, and benign skin lesions.
