British tennis number one Cameron Norrie has suffered a first round exit at the Monte Carlo Masters.

The Putney resident was beaten by Karen Khachanov in straight sets with the number 15 seed coming out on top in two tie breakers.

Dan Evans was also defeated in the opening round.

He was thrashed in straight sets by Austrian Sebastian Ofner in an encounter that lasted just over an hour.
