Around 40 firefighters are tending to a blaze at a waste collections site in Wimbledon.

A large pile of waste’s been alight in a single-storey building, which is now under control but is taking a while to fully extinguish.

London Fire Brigade have been on scene for over 72 hours, turning over waste and dampening it down.

Around 6,000 cubic metres of waste has needed to be removed from the building and taken to a separate site.

Residents in the area are being advised to keep their windows shut.
