Argentina’s football association has been fined after players displayed a banner referencing the Falkland Islands following their semi-final win over England.

The banner was criticised by politicians in the UK at the time, with Liberal Democrat leader and Kingston & Surbiton MP, Sir Ed Davey calling for those involved to be suspended.

There’s also been bans handed out to three players following the brawl at the end of their World Cup final defeat to Spain.
