An organised crime gang that targeted homes in areas including Epsom, Walton and New Malden has been jailed for over 27 years.

The group carried out a “vicious assault” and multiple burglaries of high value cars, amounting to more than £200,000.

An investigation was launched when officers spotted an Audi A8, one of just fifteen in the country, with a fake number plate.

The gang would target cars, source illegal fake number plates, and fit them to the stolen vehicles to try and evade detection.
