An author from New Malden is on the shortlist of a national writing competition being dubbed the “X Factor of the literary world”.

A.L. Berggren writes psychological thrillers.

She’s hoping to win the Novel London Literary Competition with her book, The Secret of the Crying Minds.

If she does win, she’ll get to work with a TV production team to bring her book to the small screen.
