A woman who leads percussion sessions across Surrey has won the prestigious Teacher of the Year Award.

Catherine Williams was handed the accolade at The Music and Drama in Education Awards 2025.

Ms Williams is head of the Surrey County Percussion Ensemble.

Under her guidance, the group has had many successes, including attending the finals in the Music for Youth competition.
